Are you aiming for an MBA but wish to gain some work experience at the same time? It's not a delicate choice. At the Fazlani Altius Business (FABS) School, it doesn't have to be a choice at all.
What's new about FABS?
FABS, known for its unique 'inverted' business management education model, designed to equalise between academic skill sets and professional experience, ensures pre-placement of its students through an industry-academia partnership. Corporate honchos engage with the institute selection process, curriculum design, faculty for the programme, extended internship design, etc, ensuring that the students are ready to contribute to corporate functions the very day they pass from the institute. But how?
How does a student qualify for a job?
What logic and logistics shape a curriculum where a students' professional potential is accurately assessed before s/he acquires academic maturity?
There are five levels of a stringent screening process a student has to undergo before s/he can become part of FABS — A FABSAT test designed to assess the basic capabilities of a management aspirant, a 'psychometric' or 'brain-mapping' test built to gauge the aptitude, strength, weaknesses and behavioural competencies of aspirants, and then, rigorous group discussion and personal interview rounds, followed by one-on-one with corporate partners to help identify right positioning in the corporate spectrum.
What else do I learn?
Once the student has been successfully assessed by both the academics and the corporate teams, s/he is placed with a company of repute, which looks forward to hiring the individual at the end of their programme on meeting some basic academic criteria. The curriculum also makes space for nine months of confirmed paid internship, an added qualification that sharpens the students' application prowess. The pedagogy, for its part, is based on case-based learning, seminars, interactive sessions with industry giants, business games, role plays and real-life corporate simulations, quizzes and live corporate projects among other things.

The three-fold session will include a psychometric test, a mock interview by real-time corporates and a one-on-one counselling session with management academics from FABS.
