Cocaine, LSD worth Rs 14.5 L seized, 1 held

The Azad Maidan Unit of Mumbai Polices Anti-Narcotics cell arrested a drug supplier on Sunday and seized Cocaine and LSD worth Rs 14.5 lakh from his flat in Khar.

The accused has been identified as Bakul Chanderia,(42) According to the police, they had received a tip-off that the Chanderia is instrumental in peddling party drugs and he operates from his flat in a posh residential building in Khar (W). The police laid a trap and raided his flat when they found 106 gm Cocaine worth and 90 LSD dots from the flat. The police said that Chanderia would allegedly supply the party drugs to top celebrities and in posh nightclubs.

Chanderia's photos with top Bollywood actors have also come to the fore. The police believe that the arrest of Chanderia would lead them to a big drug racket involving celebrities like TV and movie actors. Chanderia is history-sheeter and was earlier arrested for supplying drugs in a high-profile rave party at a posh hotel in Juhu in 2012 in which as many as 44 celebrities were found taking drugs.

"He would supply drugs to celebrities, names would be cropped up during the interrogation," said a police officer. "We have arrested Chanderia for possessing the drugs and seized the drugs," said Santosh Bhalekar, Senior PI of Azad Maidan Unit.
