Taking a cue from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday criticised Shiv Sena and said that Shiv Sena is indulged in demanding ransom by using saffron flag of Shivaji Maharaj. CM was speaking in Boisar as a part of campaigning for the Palghar constituency in the upcoming bypoll.

Union Minister for Social Justice Ramdas Athavle, candidate Rajendra Gavit, Maharashtra ministers Pankaja Munde, Girish Mahajan, Jaikumar Rawal, Ravindra Chavan, Mumbai city unit president Ashish Shelar, Lok Sabha MP Gopal Shetti were present on the dias.

Reminding that it was late Bal Thackeray's Shiv Sena which believed in straight battle and war, Fadnavis said that Uddhav Thackeray has now dragged Shiv Sena to such a level that it believes in back-stabbing a friend. Fadnavis said, "Uddhavji, you have engaged friend like BJP in talks and back-stabbed by giving candidate to Shrinivas Vanaga who is Chintaman Vanaga's son. Late Chintaman Vanaga never kept down BJP flag of lotus symbol and people of Palghar constituency would not forget this."

Recounting various decisions by his government and the Union government, which transformed lives of common man, Fadnavis said that whether it is food, shelter and clothing or industrial development, BJP governments have shown that they can bring development. He said that common man believes in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that is the reason people of Palghar would never send anyone to Parliament who is not part of Modiji's team.

Ramdas Athavle, in his inimitable style, said, "On May 28'th, Gavit would go to Parliament while Vanaga would go home and Congress would lose as usual." Athavle said that people of the country have shown faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that is the reason Palghar should also send Rajendra gavit to Parliament.
