Suggesting formation of a committee of propriety comprising group leaders of all parties to deal with the complaints made by house members about bureaucrats, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday told the state assembly that the Director General of Police would expedite all the cases lodged by legislators over insulting treatment by babus.
State assembly had witnessed four adjournments on Wednesday over this issue. After a breach of privilege motion was moved regarding abusive language used for senior MLA Chhagan Bhujbal, seven other MLAs brought up their pending complaints over the same issue.
The members had complained against "gross ill-treatment" meted out to them by government officials at various levels. It was decided that the Speaker would take a call.
Fadnavis said as it is, there is a privilege committee that looks into breach of privileges of members.
