Blaming Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for time buying tactics and provocative statement regarding Maratha reservation agitation, leader of opposition in state assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil on Tuesday demanded resignation by Fadnavis.
He said that instead of buying time by citing various reasons which is depriving Muslim as well as Dhangar (Shepherd) community from their reservation benefits, the government should have completed the due process to accord reservation benefits to the community.
Vikhe-Patil said that when peace marches did not yield anything, the Maratha community became aggressive and took to the streets. He said that Opposition had pressed for concrete decision in this regard during recently concluded Monsoon Session of State Assembly, but the CM yet again blamed it on Court and ignored the community. Thus, it is the government which is responsible for present violent agitations, and the CM should owe the responsibility for the same and resign, he said.
