Announcing an inquiry into the incident of waterlogging in Vidhan Bhavan premises leading to adjournment of state Assembly on Friday, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday, said that state government would help all those who have suffered losses due to torrential rains in Nagpur city.

Fadnavis also made it clear that it was necessary to ensure all the provisions at Vidhan Bhavan and assured the state Assembly that action would be taken against those responsible for waterlogging.

Replying to Opposition criticism in state Assembly, Fadnavis made it clear that appropriate action would be taken against erring officials if they have failed in ensuring preparedness for the Monsoon session.

Leader of Opposition in state assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil and NCP leader Ajit Pawar raised the issue soon after the House began functioning on Monday. Both Vikhe-Patil and Pawar questioned the very rationale behind holding the Monsoon session in Nagpur.

Pawar said that it was prerogative of Government to decide whether to hold Monsoon session in Nagpur or Mumbai but adjournment for the entire day on Friday has exposed the preparedness. He demanded action against the official for failure of the Government machinery on Friday leading to power cut at Vidhan Bhavan and waterlogging in premises.
