After reviewing the preparations for the upcoming statewide party workers' mega-convention to be addressed by BJP President Amit Shah at Bandra-Kurla Complex, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday evening played peacemaker to pacify angry office bearers.
Fadnavis was accompanied by Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar. The statewide party workers' convention will be hosted at BKC on Friday. It was Shelar who reached the BKC ground first after whom Fadnavis arrived at the venue. After visiting various areas including the main pandal and other small arrangements, Fadnavis along with Shelar and organising secretary Sunil Karjatkar went inside a small air-conditioned room.
The security staff of chief minister did not allow other office bearers who are assigned various responsibilities. An office-bearer argued with the security staff and opined that CM Fadnavis shouldn't be protocol-conscious when he was reviewing the preparation for a public rally.
After learning of the heightened tempers of his party members, Fadnavis and Shelar came out of the air-conditioned room and had tea with the party workers to douse their anger.
Following the high drama, Shelar informed media persons that since BJP would be celebrating foundation day on Friday and around five lakh party workers are expected to attend it.
