Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday assured the smaller partners in the mega alliance that BJP won't leave any of them in the lurch and will take them all along the "path of progress" over the next five years.

Without spelling out anything about the cabinet expansion, Fadnavis assured alliance partners that they would get their due, as the state government "believed in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his rule which always gave importance to the welfare of everyone".

The CM was speaking at the anniversary function of Shiv Sangram, an organisation led by Vinayak Mete, who fought fiercely for the Maratha reservation for years. During the function at Kamgar Maidan, several leaders of smaller parties, including Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana state unit president Sadabhau Khot, Rashtriya Samaj Party president Mahadev Jankar, and Mete, were present.

BJP state unit president and union minister of state Raosaheb Danve, state minister for rural development Pankaja Munde and Shiv Sangram state unit president Tanajirao Shinde were among those sharing the dais.

Shinde and first MLA from Shiv Sangram Bharti Lavhekar made a strong plea for induction of smaller parties into the state cabinet during the next expansion, with Mete, Danve and Munde echoing the sentiments.

Khot and Jankar assured Fadnavis that their parties won't heckle the government for ministerial berths and continue to support the mega alliance.
