Scared of snakes? Here is a college student from Thane who has published a booklet dispelling myths n misunderstandings about the species. Naupada boys Saleel Gharpure 22 who is BSC graduate and Parin Gala 19 a SYBSC student and also a member of RAWW and Eco Echo have done survey of more than 4000 people and come to the conclusion that to create awareness of snakes and to guide resident they have taken the pictures of snake in such a way that people will start loving the reptiles.

Parin Gala says that, "Though being a national level football player my core interest lies in to reptiles world. I just so love them, my family members till do not allow me to participate in any kind of reptile event. I have started lying to my parents as whenever I have to go on tracking or any kind of photography related herping event. I have been beaten up but now I have made my decision firm. During survey the first reaction I got about snakes was `yuck` , than I made a point that to remove this yuck word from the peoples mind as the snake are a beautiful creature of god. Everyone have their own shape and color . We should not discriminate them. We have most response in negative and because of which we are becoming more stronger towards our aim"

Saleel Gharpure who has also contributed in making books , "We have taken the photographs in a such a way that I am sure the creature who is dislike by the society or which give goos bumps , eventually people will start loving them. We have also kept free exhibition for four days from October 02 to October 05. the first day people have appreciated so much that we are overwhelmed by the happiness. Will continue doing the same for the welfare of the society".

Nilesh Patil, a member from Eco Echo an NGO says that, "The book they have launched is an excellent book and just by photographs anyone can identified which kind of snake it is. While making this book they have given more than stress on pictures rather on write up. They have put basic details along with excellent photographs. 'Photographic images are the things where languages are not a barrier'. The book is very much society friendly and the language is also basic which will help people to understand it properly".
