With an aim to make the youth aware about 70 years of India's Independence, the Shanmukhananda Fine Arts & Sangeetha Sabha will be organising an exhibition, which will travel across the city schools.

The exhibition which was planned 10 days ago will be displayed in Shanmukhananda Hall at Sion for five days, and will be displayed across different schools in the city.

Based on the theme – 'India at 70' — the exhibition will cover five different elements, which includes – 70 things India has given to the world, 70 things India has to do to become a developed nation, 70 least-known facts about India, 70 makers of Independent India, and the world acknowledges India (tribute and testimonials).

V Shankar, President of Shanmukhananda Sabha, said, "The exhibition will be an eye opener for the youth. It will be a moving exhibition which will cover various areas in the city, and later travel to other cities such as Pune, Nagpur, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

"We hope that our future generation gets a better India at 100 years. It will be displayed in different colleges or schools for at least two days. Many youngsters are not aware about the contribution that our country made to the world. We should educate them through such exhibitions," added V Shankar.

The exhibition will travel for one year across the country in various cities and will be back to Shanmukhananda next year. Shankar, said, "The exhibition will first travel to Chennai around September 10 to exhibit in Chennai-based educational institutes. It will be free of cost."
