Mumbai-based Dhanvantari Medical Foundation awarded the prestigious Dhanvantari award to renowned neurologist Dr BS Singhal in recognition for his work in medical science.
Sunday morning saw the who’s who of the medical community heading to the Taj Hotel for a special event. Mumbai-based Dhanvantari Medical Foundation awarded the prestigious Dhanvantari award to renowned neurologist Dr BS Singhal in recognition for his work in medical science.
An internationally-recognised neurologist, Dr Singhal is considered as the pioneer of modern neurology in India and has immensely contributed to the development of the field in the past 48 years.
The award was presented to him by Dr BK Goyal, president, Dhanvantari Foundation, and union minister for power Sushil Kumar Shinde in the presence of Milind Deora, MP, and Bharat Taparia, chairman, Bombay Hospitals. Dr Singhal has had more than 200 scientific publications in national and international journals, has earned several scholarships including Reid and Farish scholarship and has also been conferred prestigious awards including Dr BC Roy National award and International award for Excellence in medicine.
“Dhanvantari award was started in 1973, and has become the most prestigious medical award in the country,” said Dr Goyal.
