Chembur school's 1987 batch opens trust for needy students

The batch met after 30 years in July this year and decided to form a trust in a name of their school friend Mangesh Thakur whom they lost during their childhood.

Mangesh Thakur Memorial Trust formed by the students of Chembur English High School (CEHS) 1987 batch is all set to sponsor the education of needy students of their school.

The batch met after 30 years in July this year and decided to form a trust in a name of their school friend Mangesh Thakur whom they lost during their childhood. Currently nine alumni have a position in the trust and the other alumni members are helping the trust with the finances.

"We have formed a selection panel of five people in the trust that checks the background of the parents and the capability of the students for selection. The school is helping the trust in nominating the students who are in need of help," added Mahesh Dholia, another alumni and MTM Trust secretary.

"Since this is the first year that the trust has started its social cause, only three students have been adopted as of now. The trust will surely and gradually increase the number of students for providing them educational help in future," said Deepa Chowdhary, joint secretary of the trust.
