Media mogul and highly acclaimed industrialist Dr Subhash Chandra will share his insights and business acumen on a new television show that will make its debut on Saturday.
The programme, titled Dr Subhash Chandra Show, will be aired on Saturdays at 10 pm on Zee News and 7pm on Zee Business, and on Sundays at 11 am on both the channels. The show will also be telecast on other channels of Zee Media, said channel officials.
With just Rs17 in his pocket, Dr Chandra, then a young man, embarked on his entrepreneurial journey with gumption to dream big and an attitude that was impossible to subdue even in most adverse situation. He went on to build an empire, currently valued over $3.5 billion.
Dr Chandra's businesses range from trading goods, setting up on package industry to theme parks and multiplexes. These apart, he has created one of India's largest and most profitable television media group and owns a reputed English daily.
He was, in fact, first in India who sought to harness the huge business potential of satellite television channels and launched Zee Telefilms Limited in October 1992 as a content supplier for Zee TV – India's first Hindi satellite channel. Before the launch of Zee TV, viewers in India were under the firm grip of Doordarshan, the state-controlled terrestrial network.
Channel officials said that the one-hour show is expected to have a wide impact on young enterprising minds, who can learn from Dr Chandra – the entrepreneur has consistently demonstrated his ability to identify new businesses and lead them on the path to success.
During the show, Dr Chandra will engage with the youth and share ideas that will help young entrepreneurs and aspiring minds for business. He will also be throwing light on his business strategies and sharing his knowledge of establishing a venture and various issues related to it, said the show organisers.
