Two Central Zoo Authority (CZA) members visited the office of the director and deputy superintendent of the Byculla Zoo on Friday afternoon. While sources told dna that a team from Delhi was due to visit the zoo to inquire about recent allegations of clinical trials and trading of animals, wildlife curator Dr A K Malhotra, CZA member, told dna outside the zoo director's office that it was just a 'courtesy call'.

"We were in the city to discuss a project for SGNP. This is just a courtesy call," said Dr Malhotra, who was accompanied by P C Tyagi from the Wildlife Institute of India. When asked whether the allegations leveled by wildlife trust 'MyVets Charitable Trust and Research Centre', were discussed, Dr Malhotra said they weren't. Zoo director Anil Anjankar said he did not want to comment on the matter.
