Celebrity photographer Jagdish Aurangabadkar commits suicide

On Thursday afternoon renowned photographer Jagdish Aurangabadkar, allegedly committed suicide in his Goregaon apartment. The Vanrai police found a couple of envelopes with letters in, which Aurangabadkar 'thanked' the addressee, however, in none of them has he blamed anybody for his suicide.

Police Sub Inspector (P.S.I.), Rahul Patil, of Vanrai police station, said, "At around 12.30pm, when Aurangabadkar's tiffin delivery boy knocked the door of his apartment to deliver lunch, he found it open. When he entered inside the house, he found Aurangabadkar hanging. The tiffin service delivery boy then informed the police about the incident."

Patil further added, "All the evidences at the moment suggest suicide, however, the body has been sent for post-mortem and we're awaiting results." The last conversation Aurangabadkar had was with his nephew on Thursday morning at around 9am. Apparently, Aurangabadkar was living in this apartment alone for the past one year, while his wife, son and daughter who is married live in Sakinaka.

"We have recorded a statement of the delivery boy, Aurangabadkar's nephew, and his wife. None of them revealed that he was under depression. However, his wife revealed that he was diabetic and often used to get wounds which frustrated him and when his body was found, he had bandages on both his legs." Police probe also revealed that Aurangabadkar did not have any disputes with his neighbors. The Vanrai police has registered an Accidental Death Record for the same.
