More than 100 students who are part of the Rotaract club of H.R. College organized a campaign ‘Republican’ to revive the lost sense of patriotism and responsibility ahead of Republic Day. The students conducted a flash mob at CST and distributed copies of a survey to spread awareness on unknown facts about the Constitution, laws as well as road safety.

While many students are practising for a parade ahead of Republic Day, these students went on the streets to know how many people were aware of the significance of Republic Day and stopped pedestrians to teach them road safety rules. Around 100-150 students from junior and senior college students participated in the campaign.

Bhagyashree Goel, director of PR and marketing in the club, “Being a Republican, it’s important to know what being part of a republic means. It’s not amending a law but implanting a law that matters. Hence, this Republic Day, let’s know our country, our motherland, our Constitution.”

Jahan Chandalia, a student and coordinator of public relations and marketing in the club, said, “The feeling of patriotism should not be confined only to January 26 but always in our hearts.”

The students also urged car owners and bikers to wear seat belts and helmets respectively.
