CBI books bizman in land dispute

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday booked city-based Romell Housing PPL's owner Romel Jude and 50 others in connection with a dispute over a 16-acre plot near Dahisar check naka.

The accused have been booked for with an attempt to cause death or grievous hurt. According to the complaint by Salim Shaikh, he was in 'possession' of a small garage on the land. On April 22 last year, around 50-60 people along with Jude Romell assaulted him, his employees and destroyed the structure he alleged.

Police arrested Jude and others and gave the possession of the land to Salim. Following this, Romell filed a writ petition in the Bombay High Court alleging the illegal razing of the cabins. The court then ordered the CBI to investigate.
