CBI arrested 3 TCs for taking bribing

Three ticket collectors (TCs) were arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from a foot over bridge at Tilak Nagar station on Thursday morning. The CBI team, acting on a tip-off, caught the accused red handed for accepting bribe. The CBI had received information that some ticket collectors would fine ticketless passengers without issuing them receipts.

Three ticket collectors (TCs) were arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from a foot over bridge at Tilak Nagar station on Thursday morning. The CBI team, acting on a tip-off, caught the accused red handed for accepting bribe. The CBI had received information that some ticket collectors would fine ticketless passengers without issuing them receipts.

The accused have been identified as Amit Singh, Naresh Kumar and Vijay Hudda. "When the CBI team confronted the trio, they threw their receipt books and the cash on the spot and tried to escape," said an officer from GRP. He added: "The three accused also threatened the CBI officers of dire consequences but they managed to nab them."

A case has been registered against the accused with the Wadala GRP under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 114 (abettor present when offence is committed) of the Indian Penal Code.
