Moving forward with this ideology, dna in association with Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) and Hinduja Hospital has come up with an initiative called "Winners in Life".
With this initiative, dna is spearheading a cause that felicitates those brave individuals who have successfully fought cancer and are leading a normal life. It will also recognise the people who have supported the fight against cancer and set an example for others. The patients and the members of the medical fraternity will be awarded with the title: Winners in Life.
Doctors and nurses, who have brought changes in the field of oncology with their relentless efforts and hard work, will also be felicitated for their contribution in the battling cancer.
For the award, cancer survivors need to send us their story on how they defeated cancer. Our eminent panelists that will include doctors and personalities from sports and Bollywood will pick up the best six stories for the award.
The survivors can send their inspirational stories at winnersinlife@dnaindia.net before February 11. The function will be held on February 18 at the ITC Grand Maratha Hotel, Parel.
The initiative — a one of a kind in the city — celebrates this victory over cancer and the brave souls who have faced the greatest challenge in life and lived to inspire others. For this great cause, Hinduja Hospital, Cancer Patients Aid Association and Knowledge Partner, Indian Cooperative Oncology Network, (ICON), have come together under one roof.
The event will exclusively capture stories of patients, doctors, nurses and celebrities who have witnessed devastating effects of the life-threatening disease and have together fought against all odds.
The awardees will be we selected from nominations received across categories such as patients, doctors, nurses, celebrity activists and survivors, from all over India.
