Cake and Chinese food ruin birthday celebrations for 7 teenagers

Birthday celebrations for a group of Khar teenagers turned into a nightmare when seven girls fell ill after eating the birthday cake and chinese food. The Nirmal Nagar police have collected food samples and have sent for analysis.

Pranali Jadhav,17, was celebrating her birthday and had bought a cake from the local cake shop 'cake pipers' at Khar East and later the group ate Chinese food at Deviprasad hotel. Soon after, the girls fell ill and began vomitting. "As soon as we reached home we started feeling unwell and our parents rushed us to the doctors. My birthday was ruined due to the food we consumed." she said. The girls in the age group of 15-17 are neighbhours and reside at 3 bungalows in Khar east.

Sachin Kasare, uncle of one of the girls Sukeshri Jadhav said, "We suspect that the cake they bought was spoilt which led to food poisoning. We rushed them to VN Desai hospital and informed the cops about the incident,"said Kasare. Pranali Jadhav, said,

Vasudeo Jamdale, Senior Inspector of Nirmal nagar police station said, "The girls are being treated and we have collected the cake and food samples from the hotel. They had also consumed cold drinks, the reports would clarify the details in the case,"said Jamdale.
