CA, TYBCom exam dates not to clash

In the academic council meeting at Mumbai University (MU) on Tuesday, it was decided that if third year Bachelor of Commerce (TYBCom) exams were held on odd dates, Chartered Accountant (CA) exams would be held on even dates. This is to avoid exam dates clashing.

TYBCom exam time table is to be released on Wednesday.

Madhu Nair, dean of Commerce, MU said: "CA exams (intermediate and final) are to be held from Nov 6 to 21. For CA final, hardly anyone appears. It has been decided to hold CA intermediate on even dates like Nov 6, 8, 10, 12, etc. So, we will not have commerce semester V exams on those dates. We may hold Commerce semester VI exams for repeaters on those days as repeaters don't appear for CA exams. The controller of examination is finalising the timetable accordingly."

Dinesh Bhonde, controller of examination, said: "Exam dates won't clash; the problem has been resolved. The time table will be available on Wednesday."
