According to the Vanrai police, the accused had lured the saying Pravinbhai Malani hat the market value of these land is over 3 crores and increasing day by day and asked if he is interested in buying it till Rs 2 crore.

Three persons have allegedly duped a 59-year-old businessman to the tune of Rs 1.3 crore under the pretext of selling land at a cheaper rate which they pretended to own.
According to the Vanrai police, the accused had lured the saying Pravinbhai Malani hat the market value of these land is over 3 crores and increasing day by day and asked if he is interested in buying it till Rs 2 crore. The victim thought it as a genuine offer and asked the accused to visit the land.
"The accused then shown him two land parcels in Goregaon East and after negotiation agreed to sell it for Rs 1.3 crores. As the deal got done, the accused gave him a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreements, and other documents and took money from the victim.
"The incident came to light when the victim went to the site to take possession and it was told to him that the land is owned by someone else and the property documents which are forged. We have registered a case of cheating and forgery." said Jyotsna Rasam, Senior Police Inspector.
