When a group of homebuyers approached MahaRERA complaining that they have been residing in a building which doesn't have potable water connection and other facilities, the developer argued that the complainants started residing in the building even when it didn't have an occupation certificate.

The complainants claimed that they were to get possession in December 2016. The authority took the view that the developer should provide the residents with potable water and other facilities.

In an earlier case reported by this newspaper, the authority had refused to entertain a case where homebuyers had taken possession and complained of incomplete works.

The complaint was filed by a group of homebuyers against I Build Supreme Union JV. The complainants had booked apartment in building named Florista County, Pune, and asked the authority to issue a number of directions to the developers.

These include compensation for mental and physical trauma towards drinking water reimbursement since August 2017; completion of all amenities such as clubhouse, sports and leisure and lifestyle; dialogues with customers on monthly basis till the completion of all the amenities; and appointment of a civil engineer for the project.
