As the University of Mumbai struggles to declare the results of hundreds of courses online, it has come to light that several students with an excellent academic background have scored way lower than their expectations. It has now come to light that several students of Bachelor of Science (BSc) studying under various affiliated colleges of the university have scored between 10-30 marks.

Shocked and disappointed by the low scores, many students are now queueing up outside their respective colleges and the university’s Kalina campus. “Many students from our college have got lower marks than expected. Most of them are bright students and they never expected such a poor score. The students approached the college after their results and we have written to the university to cross check their results soon,” said Tushar Desai, Principal, Ruparel college, Matunga.

Students are now left in the lurch as they have to wait for revaluation keeping their offers for higher education or jobs at stake. “I have got only 40 marks in two subjects which cannot be right as I was expecting to get over 70 out of 75,” said a final year BSc student from a suburban college.

Despite repeated calls and messages, Controller of Examinations, Deepak Wasave could not be reached for a comment.
