As the tug of war between Shiv Sena-BJP over seat-sharing seems nowhere close to an end, the alliance partner BJP on Friday said that we are waiting for the new proposal from Shiv Sena. . BJP national president Amit Shah, who was scheduled to visit Mumbai today cancelled his visit giving clear indications that he his no more willing to have further talks with a Sena leader.
After the meeting in an attempt to save the 'Mahayuti' (grand alliance), BJP state President Devendra Fadnavis said, "whatever proposals we and other four parties received from Shiv Sena are not accomodating enough. We will have a core committee meeting to discuss the situation. We are waiting for a fresh proposal from Sena."
Howerver, Shiv Sena leader Diwakar Rawte said, "We had almost finalised our proposal, when we came to know thrrough media that Mr. Rudy announced end of alliance. We are unhappy, it is for BJP to decide if they want to continue with the alliance or not. If BJP wants to unilaterally announce to go alone in election then under leadership of Uddhav Thackrey shiv sena will deal with it," he added.
Taking it to the micro site Twitter, Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray tweeted, "Every Shiv Sainik, Yuva Sainik will achieve mission 150. Under the leadership of Uddhav ji, we will build the Maharashtra of Balasaheb's dreams-progressive, safe, prosperous."
He further added, " We have vowed to work for a better Maharashtra and to fight and win against all those who destroyed Maharashtra and dashed the hopes of all."
Senior BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, "We want to keep the alliance intact. Talks are still on with the Sena, but time is a constraint.
"So far, there is no instruction from Central leadership and the state unit of BJP is in consultation with Sena leaders," he added.
"Discussion is still going on, outcome will be positive", says Sena MP and Union Minister Anant Gite.
Earlier in a day, BJP leader Rajnath singh had said "talks are still going on."
However, RPI leader Ramdas Athawale said, "Shiv Sena should not break their alliance and if they do so, we will decide our course of action"
After the last night's meeting between all the alliance partners, it had appeared that the 'Mahayuti' alliance might survive as the smaller partners who were unhappy with Shiv Sena's offer of seven seats had agreed to scale down their demand.

Leader of Shiv Sangram Sanghatna Vinayak Mete said that if the alliance breaks he would go with the BJP, while Vinod Tawdre also reiterated that smaller alliance partners would stay with the BJP, if alliance breaks.
Hours after threatening to quit the 'Mahayuti' over the allocation of seats for the Maharashtra Assembly polls, three smaller alliance partners in the Shiv Sena-BJP led alliance on Wednesday evening indicated they would stay, following an assurance from Uddhav Thackeray to get a "respectable" number of seats. Smaller partners of the 'Mahayuti' (grand alliance), were earlier unhappy with the latter's proposal of seven seats to resolve the matter and had decided to quit the alliance stating that they would declare a list of their candidates.
But after the meeting with Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, they proposed a new formula of 150 seats for Sena, 120 seats for BJP and 18 seats for the alliance partners.
Swabhimani Shetkari Sangathana leader Raju Shetti said, "We are going to meet BJP leaders now and hope this logjam will be sorted out today."
"We have decided a new formula, and are going to hold discussions with BJP leaders. We met Uddhav Thackeray and suggested a new formula which we will discuss with the BJP leaders," said Vinayak Mete of Shiv Sangram.
RPI leader Arjun Dangle said, "We met BJP and Shiv Sena leaders and asked them for 18 seats."
Just a day ago, the Sena and the BJP said at a joint press conference that the 25-year-old alliance will remain intact and a new formula was being worked out. The junior partners of the alliance - Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghtana (SSS), Rashtriya Samaj Paksha (RPS) and Shiv Sangram - expressed their displeasure on Wednesday, saying it was unfortunate that the Sena-BJP had cheated them, and it had been a been a mistake on their part to join the alliance.
We want the earlier formula of 120 seats for BJP, 150 for Sena and 18 for alliance partners to be implemented. I have spoken to Shiv Sena now will discuss it with the BJP and then we will take the decision, says Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatna leader Raju Shetti
