Dhruv Goti (17), a student of KES Shroff College, met with an accident while going to pick up notes on a bike, a few days before his HSC board examination. His bike slipped, which led to severe injuries on his left palm, left back, elbow and left knee. But, this did not stop him from appearing for the board examination.

Every year, the Maharashtra state board receives a number of applications from students who meet with accidents, but still want to appear for their board exams. They get facility of writers to write their papers in most cases. Dhruv, from Mira Road, is one such student this year.

Dhruv said: “I was going to collect notes on a bike. My friends were also there on another bike. The bike slipped on the road, injuring me on my back, left palm and other parts of my body. I was admitted at the local hospital and discharged the next day. On Monday, we approached the Board for a writer and a nearby exam centre from my house to ensure ease of commute. I did not imagine that I will be in this trouble. My father advised me to give the exam in July. But I wanted to appear in February-March as I was prepared. It is a little painful, but I managed to study. The Board is very cooperative. It immediately approved my request for a writer and gave me permission to sit from a nearby exam centre.”
