The Bombay high court on Tuesday dismissed a bunch of petitions filed by students challenging the common entrance test held for MBA admissions observing that it cannot interfere in the admission
process.

A division bench of justices VM Kanade and AR Joshi dismissed the petitions which alleged irregularities in holding the examination and sought a re-examination. According to students, the entrance test is held in four sessions with different questions in each one of them. "In one session, the systems were very slow and hence students could not attempt all the questions in time," the petitions alleged.

During the hearing of the petitions, the court said: "If the same system has been adopted for all four sessions, how can you (students) say that the process is flawed? Today, some students are unhappy. Tomorrow, if we order a re-examination, then everyone will be unhappy."

While dismissing the petitions, the court also vacated the stay on admissions imposed by it on private and government aided MBA colleges. The court had on April 23 stayed the admission process pending hearing of the petition.

One of the petitions was filed by Bhagat Makhijani, a final-year CA student, who appeared for the MBA-CET. He alleged irregularities in the entrance test and subsequent discrepancies in results. Around 60,000 students are aspiring to get admission in colleges.
