Bombay High Court refuses relief to gang member

Mundaswami Tewar's plea seeking an early hearing saying that he has completed sentence of over six years of rigorous imprisonment and therefore his appeal finally be heard.

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday refused relief to a member of an organised gang, who has completed six out of the seven years of imprisonment.

Justice AM Badar was hearing convict Mundaswami Tewar's plea seeking an early hearing saying that he has completed sentence of over six years of rigorous imprisonment and therefore his appeal finally be heard.

According to the police, the accused was part of an organised crime syndicate and was involved in a robbery which took place in 2013, in Panvel. It is alleged that four accused, including Tewar, surrounded the jeep of a petrol pump owner, broke its windshield and fled with his valuables and cash.
