Observing that documents and evidence were not considered properly, the Bombay High Court has quashed and set aside an order of the state Caste Scrutiny Committee.

Hearing a petition filed by Pramila Prakash Atak, a bench of Justices Anoop Mohata and M S Sonak last week sent the matter back to the committee for reconsideration. The court asked the Scrutiny Committee to reconsider every aspect by giving opportunity to all the parties. It also granted liberty to the Petitioner, a resident of Malvan in Sindhudurg district, to produce additional evidence.

The Judges asked the petitioner to appear before the Scrutiny Committee on April 17. The committee is dispose of the matter, as far as possible, within four months.
