A 23-year-old youth has been arrested by the Arnala police for ramming his BMW into a scooter, thereby killing two people. The cops suspect the driver was drunk, while locals set the sedan ablaze.
The youth, whose name has been withheld by the police, is a resident of Virar (W) and was arrested on Saturday morning. He was meeting some of his friends near Purapada in Virar late on Friday night when the accident took place.

An officer with Arnala police said: "We suspect the driver of the BMW was drunk. The rider of the two-wheeler suddenly took a turn, causing the accident, but we are investigating further."
Sandeep Shiwale, assistant inspector, Arnala coastal police said: "We have registered the case under IPC Sections 304 (A) (causing death due to negligence) and 279 (rash driving), and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. We will produce the accused in Vasai court soon."
