BMC to spend Rs3 crore on jet patchers for pothole-filling

The civic body in 2008 had got three jet patching machines from the US at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore. The machines were used for repairing and filling potholes quickly.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to put its jet patching machines into operation for filling potholes on city roads. The BMC has proposed renewing the maintenance contract of these machines at a total cost of Rs3 crore. The proposal will be tabled before the civic standing committee for approval.

The civic body in 2008 had got three jet patching machines from the US at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore. The machines were used for repairing and filling potholes quickly.

In 2014-15, roads measuring 16,000 sq m in length were repaired with jet patching machines.
