The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has agreed to realign the median at Mukesh Chowk on Napean Sea Road after the residents had demanded that it be realigned for a smoother flow of traffic towards Breach Candy from Napean Sea Road.

A median strip is a reserved area that separates opposing lanes of traffic. "We have agreed to change the alignment. The median will be moved two foot and the trees in the median will be removed. This will help create two-foot space for the traffic that goes towards the Breach Candy side. The proposal has now gone to the accounts department," said an officer from D ward.

On June 5, 2017, DNA had reported about Napean Sea Road Citizens Forum (NSCRF) demanding the realignment of the median strip. The residents wanted the realignment as there was a delay of up to 25 minutes to exit Napean Sea Road to go towards BA Desai Road.
