Swine Flu isolation unit - has started its operations at Kasturba Hospital, which specialises in treatment for infectious diseases.

To deal with the rising number of Swine Flu cases across the city, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has started a special ward equipped with latest technology. This move from the corporation is to combat the growing threat of Swine Flu, which has so far taken five lives in the city.
Swine Flu isolation unit - has started its operations at Kasturba Hospital, which specialises in treatment for infectious diseases. Speaking at the BMC's general body meeting on Tuesday, Additional municipal commissioner (Health), Sanjay Deshmukh said that the ward will only cater to people infected with the disease and there will be a special team of doctors and other support staff for assistance.

Deshmukh further added that, till date 42 people have tested positive for the deadly virus in the city and the death toll has reached five.
