The ward which are not promoting civic body's waste processing at source

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) A ward (Colaba, Churchgate and CST) has stated that it will not spare bulk generators if they do not start mandatory waste segregation and composting at source soon for which the deadline was October 2. The BMC has already directed all assistant commissioners to visit housing societies to check about the delay in starting the waste segregation in their premises.
The ward has also started identifying advance locality managements (ALMs) in the ward which are not promoting civic body's waste processing at source. "At present, at only one place in A ward, waste is bring processed," said a senior civic official.
The A ward authorities held a meeting between bulk generators and supplier of various waste processing technology on September 28 at Hotel Taj President in Colaba. "The outcome of the meeting was not encouraging," said Kiran Dighavkar, assistant commissioner of A ward.
