Attacking Shiv Sena for rampant corruption in BMC Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday appealed people to vote for change in BMC rule so that their lives are transformed. He said the Shiv Sena has no right to seek votes since it has not even provided basic amenities like water, roads and sanitation.

Addressing a public rally at Girgaum, Fadnavis said that people of Girgaum should do away with voting based on emotional appeal every five years. He said that Shiv Sena has not provided them water for years and residents were forced to use public toilets every day.

Attacking Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray for raising Ram Temple while campaigning for BMC elections, Fadnavis said that BJP has promised in its manifesto for Uttar Pradesh elections and they would build one in Ayodhya. He slammed BJP for raising issues like Ram Temple and that Sena was out of promises to make to the people of Mumbai.

The Chief Minister also spoke about the metro projects saying it would pass underground and promised that only 500 families would be affected and they would be provided 500 square feet houses in the locality. He added that cluster development was the only way forward for redevelopment of old areas and for this the state government would change rules in development control rules. He said that development plan for Mumbai would provide housing for all and would be finalised after consulting all stakeholders.

Fadnavis added that Girgaum was special because it was the land where Lokmanya Tilak and Nana Shankarsheth who provided leadership to Mumbai and India. He also said Girgaum was the cultural heart of Mumbai and it was the place where the first daily gathering or Shakha of RSS was held in Girgaum. Fadnavis was joined by BJP Mumbai city unit president Ashish Shelar, MLAs Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Shaina NC and other candidates from the area.
