A day before commencement of the legislative session, top BJP and Shiv Sena leaders took out time to sit together and sort out all issues between them so that they can put a brave face before the Opposition in the budget session.

The meeting, which was held at chief ministe Devendra Fadnavis's official residence Varsha, was attended by Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray as well. Sena has been aggressive over farmers' issues despite being part of the government. Some enthusiastic Sena leaders have openly criticised their cabinet colleagues and the BJP many a times and this has often given scope to the Opposition for leg pulling.

"Since Congress and NCP seem to have come closer and plan to attack the government during the session over a range of issues, it is important that we remain united to counter them," said a BJP leader. The meet was on till the time of going to press.

Meanwhile, leaders of all allied parties met the chief minister on Tuesday over dinner. Leaders of RPI, Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatna, Jmaaurajay Shakti etc. were present for the meeting. While the outcome of the meeting couldn't be known till the time of going to press, sources said that the allies refreshed their demand for inclusion in the cabinet, a long pending proposal, which is unlikely to be approved.
