It is regarding case filed against Maple group partners by police in connection with advertisement of housing scheme with photographs of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Guardian Minister Girish Bapat as well as Photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was Maple group which had promised to provide flats in just Rs. 5 lakhs in Pune and the advertisement had photographs of these leaders.
It was after BJP MP Kirit Somaiah objected to the advertisement floated by the Maple Group and when a few activists in Pune objected to the charging of registration fee to the tune of Rs. 1145 while filling up the form. Almost 20 thousand citizens have registered after which Maharashtra Navnirman Sena ransacked the office where Maple Group registration for its scheme `Home in Rs. 5 lakhs' registration was going on.
After Police filed case against Chairman and Managing director of the Maple Group Sachin Agarwal on Tuesday evening, Agarwal appeared in Zee24Taas talk show on the same controversy. Guardian Minister Bapat also was present in Zee24Taas Pune office and after media persons tried to meet Agarwal and Bapat after the show, both Bapat and Agarwal left the spot immediately. Bapat has later told media persons that he was not aware of the fact that Agarwal was also present for the show. MNS has demanded Bapat's resignation for saving the Maple Group owners. Bapat has stated that he has no connection whatsoever with Maple group people and there is no question of saving anyone, Bapat has become the third minister in one week to hit headlines for a bad reason adding to the problems of Devendra Fadnavis Government.
