BJP corporator Ritu Tawde wants girls trained to deal with molestation

BJP corporator Ritu Tawde wants the civic body to rope in women legal experts to disseminate information about molestation cases and equip the civic school girls with all the necessary legal aspects. Tawde wants the general body meeting to pass a resolution on this.  

Tawde, in her notice of motion, has mentioned that school girls should be explained and counselled about how and under what circumstances they can lodge police complaints.

“Every day, several incidents of molestation get reported. Minors are raped but parents realise it much later. When such things happen, girls get scared and they don’t know what to do. If young girls know how to deal with such cases, it helps parents to register complaints with the police,” said Tawde. 

Earlier, Tawde took up the issue of mannequins displaying lingerie and stated that it amounted to obscenity and led to cases of molestation.
