State leaders of BJP met the deputy election commissioner in Delhi and registered a complaint about bogus voters listed in Pune and also against the Latur collector and returning officer Vipin Sharma, who they alleged, did not take approval of all the candidates before sealing the voting machines.

"The names of as many as 1,08,000 voters have been found to be similar in the voters list in both Sangli and Pune. We have presented evidence before the election department. We believe it is a conspiracy to carry out bogus voting in Pune constituency," BJP spokesman Madhu Bhandari said.

"EC officials have assured us that as per a new law, if there are disputes in the names in voters lists, such lists would be kept separate and when these people come to vote, they would be allowed to vote only after they are properly identified," Bhandari added.

It is alleged that it was the Pune Congress candidate, Vishwajit Kadam, who had got these voters registered in Pune. Kadam is pitted against BJP's Anil Shirole and MNS' Deepak Paigude.
