The deceased person has been identified as Vinod Bisht (24) a resident of Mira Road, while the injured person has been identified as one Rama Bhandari (27).
A man was killed, while another was left severely injured after their two-wheeler skidded at Western Express Highway in the wee hours of Tuesday in Kandivli. Apparently, it was actress Sahila Chadda who had rushed the victims to hospital in her car, while the police acted as mere spectators.

According to the police, the incident took place around 12.30am on Tuesday at Western Express Highway within the jurisdiction of Kurar police station. "Bisht was riding a two-wheeler when he lost control over his vehicle and the vehicle skidded. A team from Powai police station, doing night round, rushed to the spot and with the help of a citizen, who turned out to be an actress rushed the victims to Trauma Care Hospital," said senior police inspector Limbanna Vhanmane, of Kurar police station.
Vhanmane rubbished the claims that police were not prompt to react following the incident and had indulged in jurisdiction issue with Samta Nagar police. "The police never got into jurisdiction issue. We wasted no time in rushing victims to hospital. Bisht later succumbed to injuries. We will now record statement of Bhandari, who was riding pillion, to ascertain what had actually transpired," said Vhanmane.
"We were on night round duty and without causing any delay the victims were rushed to the nearby hospital in a car, as she was passing by the spot," said senior police inspector Bhai Mahadeshwar of Powai police station.
