Sambhaji Bhide, the accused in Bhima Koregaon violence, is visiting Mumbai on Sunday, January 7. Bhide, referred to as Guruji by followers, is scheduled to speak at Parel's Meghwadi at 4.30 pm at an event organised by the Mumbai wing of his organisation Shri Shiv Pratisthan Hindustan (SSPH). The organisers are sure that Bhide will come to Mumbai unobstructed and give the lecture. Banner of the event have already started surfacing around the city.

His lectures are planned to be on two topics – One will be to rally support for a 32 man (1,280-kilo) suvarna sinhashan (gold throne) for a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji at Raigad fort; and second one is Dharatirth Gadkot Mohim (a programme of the organisation).

Purshottam Babar, organiser and SSPH member, said, "We are getting calls from certain places asking us to not go ahead with Guruji's programme, but we aren't going to cancel it. Our event isn't one where caste matters — Guruji has followers from all 18 castes and sub castes of the state. He is going to talk about two of our programmes and we are expecting at least a 1000 plus crowd."

According to Babar, the first topic is about Shivaji's gold coronation throne, which was later destroyed by Aurangzeb's army. Bhide's organisation has pledged to collect the amount to construct the throne again. The second topic, Babar, says will destroy the myth that Bhide or the organisation is against any caste. "In Gadkot Mohim, we have people from all castes and sub castes living the life of a mavala, (soldier of Shivaji's army) by travelling together from one fort to another. During this journey, we get food from our homes and everyone shares it. People from all castes, including Mahar, are present and we do not discriminate in any way," he said.
