BDD redvpt is top priority, says new MHADA CEO

Milind Mhaiskar, the principal secretary to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been transferred as a Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, MHADA, Mumbai.

The 1992 batch IAS officer Mhaiskar said that in MHADA, his major focus will be the Bombay Development Directorate (BDD) Chawl redevelopment and Prime Minister Awas Yojana.

"The BDD redevelopment is a major project that will create the ample number of additional houses. It is on top of my agenda. We want to execute this project on time. Two places tenders have floated while we will float the rest soon," Mhaiskar said.

The BDD chawl redevelopment project is said to be more than Rs 40,000 crore.

"We will undertake BDD chawl project in phases. We have enough space there to relocate the residents within that premises. This will be a game changer in real estate sector," Mhaiskar.

Under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana, the government wants to construct the affordable houses. "We will promote the affordable housing project. Each one should get his/her own dream home," he said.
