The fifth semester of Mumbai university’s TYBcom exam was delayed at six centres on Monday, the first day of the exam, due to Internet failure. The questions papers, which are sent to exam centres by electronic mode, could not be downloaded on time, delaying the exam by 20 to 30 minutes at these centres, said a varsity official. St Andrew’s College at Bandra was one of those affected. Over 65,000 students took the exam in six districts.
Principal Marie Fernandes, said: “The delay was due to the lengthy paper. Also, we had to download all sets of papers in Marathi as well.”
Meanwhile, a student from Vasai, who did not get his hall ticket, gave the exam at his college. The student told dna, ‘I had submitted my form on time.” Some students were running to collect their hall tickets hours before the exam.
