A delegation of Bangladesh police on Thursday met the Mumbai traffic police officers at the traffic police headquarter in Worli in order to understand the practices used by the city traffic police to curb traffic menace. The delegation was taken to the traffic police control room and was also briefed about how the traffic police helpline functions.

"Mumbai is immensely populated city and while the number of vehicles in the city has increased, the number of roads remain the same, which often leads to traffic snarls. Considering all this, there is always eagerness among others to know how Mumbai traffic police functions and manages to keep traffic smooth," said a traffic police officer.

According to the sources, the Bangladesh delegation, comprising of three additional commissioners and seven deputy commissioners, were in town to study how the automatic traffic system works in Mumbai. "The delegation spent more than an hour at the traffic police headquarters where they were given a presentation on the Mumbai traffic police. They were then taken to the control room where they were informed how traffic is manned with the help of CCTVs," said the officer.
