Amidst public outrage over the poor condition of infrastructure used by commuters to reach railway stations following the Elphinstone Road stampede, a user of the Bandra skywalk has complained to authorities of drug addicts and broken tiles on the skywalk.

Vinod D'Souza, a resident of Bandra, who often uses the skywalk has written to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) demanding that the broken tiles be replaced. The broken tiles also often have puddles of water that dirty clothes of office goers.

"There are broken tiles on the Skywalk particularly at the Lucky Restaurant-end which is dangerous, as people can trip. If they do not trip, they can harm their ankles when they do not notice it during crowd hours. There are also drug addicts on the skywalk which can be a security issue. They are not removed and can be seen at the entry and exit point. There should be enough security to ensure that they are removed from there," said D'Souza.
