Bandra rape case: Victim well-behaved and friendly, say neighbours

While the neighbours of the Spanish national are shocked by the incident, they all praises for the well-behaved woman.

They said she is beautiful not just in the way she looks but the way she conducts herself. “She and her roommate are well behaved and friendly with all the residents in the society. She invited me for coffee four days ago. We are horrified by the incident,” said a neighbour, who did not wished to be named.

The neighbours were the first ones to be alerted after the incident on Monday morning.

“While we kept consoling her but she is absolutely shattered. She kept repeating that she wants to run away and never come back. We also realised that no matter how hard we tried to heal her wounds, she is scarred forever,” the neighbour said.

The foreign national told the police that she had several pleasant memories during her six-month stay in the society.

She even participated in the Ganeshotsav celebrations. “She not only attended the artis and pujas but also accompanied us for the idol’s immersion. She also accompanied me to my mother’s place to see the idol,” said another neighbour.

The neighbour added that the woman had always praised the diversity in the country. “However, the incident has left her feeling betrayed and we are sure her opinion would not remain the same,” she added.
