Awareness drive to get locals to clean after pets in Cuffe Parade

Residents of Cuffe Parade will get a dose of 'Pawfect Sunday' on April 8 which will be held for sensitising the locals on animal welfare. The residents will come together to paint a wall in Cuffe Parade to spread awareness about the hygiene of their pets and to keep the locality poop-free.

The Cuffe Parade residents have been facing a major issue of dog poop being littered on footpaths when the pet owners take their pets for morning and evening walks. The initiative will sensitise the residents of Cuffe Parade to ensure that the poop collectors are used to keep footpaths and streets clean.

Moreover, the residents will also hold various competitions to spread awareness about expressing compassion towards animals and to not indulge in cruelty to animals. The event will be organized in the lane near Casablanca building in Cuffe Parade with kids and senior citizens will participate in various events throughout the day.

Padmakar Nandekar, Secretary General of Cuffe Parade Residents Association said, "We have noticed that the pet owners while on the morning or evening walk with their pets do not clean the poops of their pets which makes the locality unclean. We have started the initiative to ensure hygiene for the pets and also to spread awareness about the animal cruelty laws."
