Racing tracks are quite the only place where one gets to express his/her passion for riding or driving. This is possibly the reason why most major automobile companies have begun organising races for their customers, along with holding educational programmes on safe driving.

Rider Mania, a much popular annual gathering of Royal Enfield owners is a case in point. The three-day motorcycling extravaganza attracts thousands of biking enthusiast from India as well as other countries across the globe, too. Rudratej Singh, President, Royal Enfield, while concluding last year's event, said, " It is camaraderie and the passion for motorcycling that makes our customers our real brand managers and it is our privilege to interact and share experiences with them. I would like to invite more Enfield owners from India and abroad to participate in Rider Mania 2017, due to be held from November 17 to 19, at Vagator, Goa."

Similarly, Bajaj Auto recently hosted the second season of the Pulsar Festival of Speed at the Kari Motor Speedway, which kicked-off in Gurugram in February and ended in Coimbatore in April. The event was hosted in Gurugram, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Aamby Valley for Pune and Mumbai, and the finale in Coimbatore. The company said that the event gave its customers an opportunity to engage in professional lap racing on a track setup for the ultimate biking experience.

Sumeet Narang, Vice President (Marketing), Bajaj Auto, said in a statement during the event, "We successfully engaged over 20,000 fans from across the country at this mega show last year. This year we managed to increase the footfall by introducing more fun-filled activities for the audience. In the coming years, we aim to take this festival to an international scale, extending participation to overseas racing enthusiasts as well."

In fact, with market leader Tata Motors organising a truck racing competition similar to the ones held abroad, even the truck segment has now been lent a glamorous sheen. Ravindra Pisharody, Executive Director (Commercial Vehicles), Tata Motors, during the fourth race event held this year in March, said, "Through events like this, truck drivers and other people associated with truck driving realise that driving is a job as respectable as any other."
