An autorickshaw driver was arrested by Ghatkopar police on Tuesday for allegedly stalking and outraging the modesty of a 39-year-old school teacher by flashing before her. According to the police, this was the second such instance by the rickshaw driver.

The accused, Rajkumar Yadav, 34, was stalking the woman, a teacher in a navy school, for the past few days. As per her complaint, she was walking towards the school from her residence on Tuesday around 8.15am when Yadav approached her and enquired whether she wanted a rickshaw. However, when the victim answered in the negative, Yadav followed her for a few meters and then flashed himself. The victim got scared and crossed over to the other side of the road, the police said.

In the evening, she narrated the incident to her husband. He was confident that Yadav will come the next day to repeat his indecent behaviour. On Wednesday morning, the victim left for school at her usual time. Her husband followed her at a distance. Yadav, who was waiting for her, once again tried flashing himself, but this time was caught by the victim's husband, the police said.

Yadav was then handed over to the police. He has been booked under Section 354 (D) for stalking and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.
An officer from Ghatkopar police station said, "We are trying to verify if the accused is a habitual offender. Yadav is married, but it seems he is a pervert."
