A team of officers from the Mumbai unit of state ATS was dispatched to Pune on Thursday following a low intensity blast in which three people were left injured. ATS officials said only after proper inquiries it would be known whether it was a terrorist act.
The low intensity blast occurred near Pharaskhana police station close to the famous Dagdusheth Halwai temple in the busy Budhwar Peth area around 2.30pm.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai police too have sounded an alert across the city. "We have intensified our vigilance near vital installations and public places. Anti-terror cells of all police stations have been asked to beef up their surveillance. We will also conduct checks at parking areas in places of high footfall," said a senior officer.
